New to the food bank?  Just come by when we're open.  Friendly volunteers can quickly help take care of what you need. We're in this together. 

Anyone who lives in Hood River County or Mosier needing food assistance can receive help from FISH. Volunteers will help you when you arrive - please stay in your car.   IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE FOOD BANK, just let a volunteer know.  You do not need to present an ID.  We are here to  help. 

Want to help by donating food items?  At this time we're most in need of:

  • Canned hominy

  • Canned corn

  • Oatmeal

  • Boxed cereals

  • Masa flour

  • Chicken noodle soup

  • Ramen 

  • Hygiene items: toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap  

Mask Requirements: As of July 1, the State of Oregon requires wearing cloth face coverings in indoor public spaces.  They also remind everyone to wash hands frequently, avoid touching face and eyes, and maintain 6 feet of social distance from others to in your own household.   Visit the CDC site to learn how to sew your own mask.  You  can get more details on mask usage from our County Public Health Officer.

Food and Product Donations: We accept food and product donations between 8am and noon, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Hood River.  Please email if the donation is very large so we have folks on hand to help.  The community restaurants and food suppliers have truly helped us help others.  Thank you!

Volunteers: We have plenty of volunteers at this time, and don't need additional volunteer help.  We'll let everyone know if this changes. If you want to help and can afford to donate funds, please use our PayPal links.

Daily Public Service Announcement: Dr. Chris Van Tilburg, the county Public Health Officer, provides a daily update on the situation in Hood River County. 

Food banks are considered essential operations during this time.  We have food on hand to help, and are grateful to the community for all the help.  


FISH Food Bank Welcomes You

Because no one should be hungry!

The FISH Food Bank mission is to help alleviate hunger by distributing food regularly and on an emergency basis, regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation and in a friendly, instant, sympathetic, helpful, nonjudgmental and confidential manner.

Our mission is to provide emergency food once per month or about 12 times per year to those in Hood River County and Mosier.   In addition to food supplies, we have personal hygiene supplies too.

Other resources to help those in need include: SNAP (Food Stamp Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), SSI (Supplemental Security Income), or LIEAP (Low Income Energy Assistance).  Info on unemployment benefits in Oregon.

If you are experiencing homelessness and do not have a permanent address but need food aid, please come by - we can help!


 Please help our volunteers by remaining in your car and providing them with the info needed to bring your food out to you.

The State of Oregon requires those over the age of 5 to wear a mask to help stop the spread of coronavirus. If you do not have a cloth mask, talk to the volunteer.  We have masks we can provide to you.


If you are sick, someone else can pick up food for you.  Fill out one of the forms  and have a healthy person bring it to FISH.  // Si está enfermo, alguien más puede recogerle alimentos. Complete uno de los formularios y haga que una persona sana lo lleve a FISH.

United Way of the COLUMBIA GORGE (UWCG) is a non-profit, local agency that supports non-profit human service programs in Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Klickitat and Skamania counties.
